One example of Laurett's leadership and influence is one day my 15 year old granddaughter was visiting from out of state. We were at Laurett's for dinner and Chloe, a self conscious, 5'10" irritable teenager, that hates everything, was buried in her phone. Laurett reached out to Chloe and starting asking her about school and general conversation. Before we left that evening, Chloe was learning how to walk the runway, in 6 inch stilettos, wearing a beautiful flowing gown, a Mrs America sash, standing up straight and grinning from ear to ear. When I sent pictures to her mother, she said this was the first time she'd seen her daughter stand up straight and SMILE in over 5 years!!
